Start your day at 8:30 am at the hotel. Then, drive straight to Site 1 of the Plain of Jars. Here, you can explore the biggest jars, some weighing over 6 tons, as well as the N.V.A trenches, the kiln cave, and the special carving jars featuring a frog man. There are approximately 334 jars at this site. You’ll spend about 1 hour here, including explanations and taking photographs.

Afterward, drive to Site 2, one of the local favorites. Spend about 40 minutes here, including explanations. Then, drive up to the viewpoint to visit the crash site of an old airplane from the war era. On the way, you can also visit the Russian tank. Afterward, head to a local restaurant for lunch.

Next, drive to Site 3. You’ll walk across the rice fields to reach this beautiful site. Afterward, continue your journey to the War-scrap village, where local people produce spoons made of aluminum scrap from Indochina-war era warplanes. Then, continue driving to the former capital of Xiengkhouang province. Visit the old capital, including the oldest temple of Pia Wat, the former palace of the Phuan kingdom, and the 20-meter-high stupa. Finally, drive back to Phonsavan, arriving around 5:00 PM.
